Meeting with the students at the conference titled “Turkey’s Future Entrepreneurship”, Koç shared his experiences and gave information about the conditions under which entrepreneurship should be from A to Z.
.
“FAMILY AND EDUCATION SYSTEM MUST OPEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP”

Stating that the future of Turkey will be shaped by entrepreneurs, Koç said, “As young people, forget about becoming a civil servant after school. Think about how you can start your own business, be brave, determined and determined.” Entrepreneurship is a bit in the background in our tradition. Entrepreneurship is a point that is killed in our education system and rasped in the family. The education system says to graduate all the time, get an insured job. His family says, oh my son, do not ruin our savings. You can give money to a young person, you can cover his capital, if “If that young person doesn’t know what to do and how to do, there is little chance of success. Turkey should prioritize raising entrepreneurs. The state gives great support in this regard, but it is necessary to pave the way for entrepreneurs both in the education system and in the family.”

EVERYTHING STARTED WITH A DREAM…

Koç told his entrepreneurship story with these words:

“After university, I worked in the public sector for a year. One day, while I was in the service, we were chatting with an engineer brother there. I always had a dream of starting my own business. When I told him ‘I will start a business’, he replied, ‘I was saying that too, I have 2 years left until my retirement’. When I gave up, I immediately resigned. My family and relatives were all very angry. Now half of my family works with me. If I hadn’t started the company I dreamed of today, I would have retired 2 years later, living on my pension and not doing any other job. However, I currently have about 600 employees “With the companies I invest in as ‘Angel Investor’, perhaps this number reaches 1,500. This is a joyful thing. 1,500 people mean 4 thousand, 5 thousand people with their families. All of these people become our friends and brothers.”

“ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS VITAL FOR OUR COUNTRY”

“With the Entrepreneurial Businessmen Foundation, we are making efforts to develop ‘entrepreneurship’, which we consider to be of vital importance for our country, and to spread it among young people,” said Koç, “What would you like to do for me in this life?” If you ask me, I would like to spend more time and effort to instill entrepreneurship in the new generation.

Giving advice to young people to have a project when they start university, Koç said that there is money both in Turkey and in the world. If you don’t want to be a lifelong credit card addict, have a project and become an entrepreneur. It was difficult to start a business in our youth. Now springs are pouring out from everywhere. TUBITAK provides support, KOSGEB provides support. Some banks provide unsecured support. Foundations like us, businessmen groups support, there are angel investors,” he said.

“Don’t let your dream be to enter a public institution”

“If you have a dream of going to a public institution, the opportunities in public institutions will not be the same in the coming years,” said Koç. We want them to tell about their initiatives. We give out Entrepreneurship Awards once a year. With this, we try to popularize entrepreneurship. Currently, there are no opportunities for entrepreneurs in Turkey anywhere else in the world. But there are conditions for this too. First of all, have your own dynamic. Have the determination and knowledge to work. You all know how easy it is to access information today.
